Thought I might as well give it a go.
Here's a work in progress of mine, I don't know when, or IF I'm gonna proceed writing it, hell I don't even have a name for it yet. Oh well, we'll see, I guess. Alright, here we go.
-Prologue-
Stardate-25/45235
Earth date- 14/7/2495
"Dammit!" captain Winters yelled. "Can't she go any faster?". "The engines are at max speed, sir" one of the crewmembers responded.
A huge blast rocked the command bridge as cannonfire hit the ship once again. The room was instantly bright red. "We lost engine #2,Sir!"
"Report hull status", Winters commanded.
"Hull breaches at section 3, 8 and 15".
"Severe ones?".
"Well, according to Damage Control, section 8 is damaged quite a bit, the main react-"
A huge warphole caught the men's attention. "Oh my god. GET THOSE ENGINES BACK ONLINE!"
"We're doing our best sir!" The warphole spewed out yet another fleet of enemy battleships.
"Start warping sequence!" the captain said. One of the computer screens started flashing. "Warp core is offline sir!"
The barrage of gunfire got fiercer as the battleships came closer. A gigantic explosion outside caught the men's attention
"We've lost the andromeda, captain!", one of the technicians said.
"Dear Lord..." was all the captain could say.
All of a sudden, everyone on the command bridge grew silent. All they could do was watch, as the T.S.V. Andromeda got ripped to pieces.
They had little time to mourn its crew though. Time was running out, and so were the solutions.
Captain Winters sighed, as he didn't see a chance to survive.
"Sir," one of the crewmembers asked. "Should we initiate plan Omega 9?"
"I guess we have no other choice".
"All crewmembers, all crewmembers, prepare to initiate plan Omega 9" the speakers sounded.
Everyone in the commandbridge stood up, and left. Everyone except Captain winters. He had sworn to stay with his ship, the T.S.V. Helix.
Only minutes later, a wave of escape pods shot away from the crippled ship. Most of the were destroyed, only a handfull of them made it through.
All of them set for an other planet, huge distances away. To reach them would take years, if not decades. Not that the people in the pods minded,
they were frozen in hypersleep. As the pods flew further away from the Helix, the ship finally gave in, being destroyed in a huge explosion.
Captain Winters's last thought had been "At least they're alive now". As the explosion died out, the pods proceeded flying to their destination,
as they had a long way to go.

Due to the good comments on the first part, and because wanted to, I continued writing!
-Chapter One-
-The First Encounter-
*Beep*
*Beep Beep*
*Beep Beep Beep*
Matt slowly opened his eyes. He felt like crap. It felt as if someone had made a hole in his
head and poured pebbles in it. Matt shivered. It was kinda cold. "...What...happened?" was the
first thing to cross his mind. He tried to remember, but his memory was still a blur. Then,
he noticed he was in some kind of capsule. Just as he touched the darkened glass panel in front
of him, a few valves opened, and the front panel slided up. The bright sunlight flared in his eyes,
and it made his headache only worse. Matt stood up from his capsule, his legs barely capable of
carrying him. He slowly walked forward, carefully watching the landscape. Everything was bright
and colorful. Bluish-green grass covered the rolling plain he stood on, and tree-like plants were
scattered over the field, which didn't really have any major geological features, everything was
round and smooth. After checking for any danger in the vicinity, Matt sat down by one of the trees.
They didn't carry leaves, they carried bubbles. hundreds of them, all roughly the size of a marble,
and slightly blue. The stem was yellow with red streaks in it, and the branches faded from yellow,
to green, to blue. Matt wasn't watching them, though. He was far away from that tree, in the depths
of his memory, trying to figure out what had happened. He couldn't remember anything but his wife
Luxia, and their only son Taylor.
*scuffle*
Something caught Matt's attention. He quickly stood up and peered around, but saw nothing. Then,
out of nowhere, something landed on his back.
Matt fell over on the ground.
"Who or what are you?"
"Matt turned his head. He saw a human-like creature, about one meter fifty, sitting on his back.
It was covered by yellow fur, and had some
cat-like features, such as a tail, and pointy ears.
"I..I-I..", Matt stuttered, quite astonished by the critter.
"No need to be afraid, my hairless pal", said another voice. As a second creature leaped from the
tree, dozens of bubbles popped, as if someone smashed a piece of bubble wrap. The second creature,
although being from the same species, had a brown fur and certainly looked more mature than the
first one, also being a bit taller, about 1 meter 75. It was also clearly female. Matt was still speechless.
"Not much of a talker, eh" the second creature said. "Alright, I'll go first then. I'm Luryan"
"M-Matt Rodin"
Luryan kicked the other critter off Matt's back and took his hand to help him back up.
"I'm sorry for Lilas, he always does that. Now, where have I seen something like you before..."
"I'm a human, planet earth"
Luryan grinned.
"Can you be a bit more specific? Every species calls his own planet earth, ya see"
"Oh, right. What about Sol III?"
"Ah, I know that one. You must be a Homo Sa...Sa..."
"Sapiens" Matt aided her. "So, what planet is this?"
"This, my friend, is Maktar IIa, Located in the third quadrant of the Andromeda galaxy, and home to
the Monaï, such as myself"
"Andromeda..." Matt knew that name. He was eerily familiar with it...
"Lury! we've got another loner!" Lilas shouted as he investigated the pod Matt came from.
Luryan ran to the pod. Matt tried to follow her, but couldn't keep up, she was lightning-fast.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were that slow" She said, as Matt arrived, panting like a dog.
"I..Hit's...oH...ka...Hay" Matt replied. When he was recovered, he quickly joined the other two.
"Can someone tell me what a 'loner' is?"
"Someone like you"
"I don't understand, does this have anything to do with my past?"
"Don't you remember anything?"
Matt tried to remember once again, but he didn't get any further than the name andromeda.
Lilas showed him a small sign on the inside of the pod. A planet encircled by a helix. The symbol of
the T.S.V. Helix. All of a sudden his memory came back to him, and hit him like a brick wall. It had
been there all the time, lurking around the corner, and now it was there. The Helix, the battle, the
Andromeda, plane Omega 9, everything was crystal clear. It was a bit overwhelming, and Matt, who was
suddenly struck with fear and disbelief, sat down on the ground.
"Are you ok, Matt?" Luryan asked.
She sat down next to him.
"I think," she said, "it's best for us to go home"
"ok..." Matt feintly replied.
They both stood back up, and Luryan called Lilas, who was still looking at the pod.
With the setting sun in their back, they wandered off.

I thought It'd be nice to write a small bio about the characters, more to be added later.
Name: Matthias Rodin
Age: 27
Race: Homo Sapiens Sapiens (Human)
Home planet: Sol III
Matt is a rather reserved, shy human, yet he can be quite open when he feels he can absolutely trust someone. He grew up in Colony XVII, a seaside metropolis. Matt, not being the strongest kid alive, frequently got bossed around and bullied by peers, which led him to be a quiet, closed person. This doesn't render him stupid though. Once a top-notch student, Matt's smart and cunning. He put his abilities to work in the Terran Space Defense Force, to great regret of his wife Luxia -to who he had been married only three months-. and their new-born son Taylor. He was assigned to the T.S.V (Terran Space Vessel) Helix, under command of Cpt. Bartholomew Winters, as a scientist, researching technologies to better sustain life on barren planets. The Helix got however involved in a major armada, in which it got destroyed. Matt was able to escape in a pod, and has now stranded on Maktar IIa. That's where he met Luryan and Lilas.
