Jus' keep the story movin', Flaw.
------------------------------------------
A Convenient Inconvenience:
As her son lay wounded in a tent miles away, Melissa sulked in the company of her closest, now only, friend. When she left the hospital, she didn't know what to do with her life. She merely sat, dull, lifeless, in Jeni's home. Jeni did her best to cheer her up, reassuring her that Daniel had to be out there somewhere, just waiting to be found. Melissa wasn't buying it... that is, until a certain letter arrived at Lapine's house. A letter telling her of Daniel's accomplishments, and of his court-marshal. He got off with a warning on the claim that it was self-defense. Reading this, Jeni smiled and hid the letter away where Melissa wouldn't find it. She needn't know about it. It was better that they both remain oblivious.
But secrets can't be kept forever. It wasn't long until she found the letter. As she read it, a glimmer of hope charmed her eyes. In the dark of night, she concealed herself in a dark robe and left her friend. She had to find her son if it killed her.
* * * * *
In the morning, Jeni woke to find that Melissa was gone and had left a note on her bed.
| She wrote: |
My dear Jennifer,
I found the letter from that military camp. The one regarding my son. I have gone to find him. I don't know if or when I'll be back, and I can't thank you enough for trying to protect me like this.

The rabbit simply wished her the best, and prepared for work.

Just siddown and start writing. You can revise later.
Speaking of which...
----------------------------------------------
Events in Motion:
Not long after he'd healed from his incident, Hunter had been given another assignment. Apparently some rebels had taken an integral part of one of Brown's experiments hostage, and his job was to get her back. Simple. What could possibly go wrong? Receiving his orders, Hunter packed up his rifle and pistol, hopped in a jeep, and was driven to the drop-off point.
He wouldn't be returning.
* * * * *
Meanwhile, sirens exploded somewhere several miles from anything resembling civilization. A young coyote, in a tight garment of canvas and leather, was running into the forest, running from two men in white coats. An escaped mental patient. He ran, ducked, and swerved, trying to lose the two white-coated fiends. He eventually succeeded, and they went back to the institution. Now he could relax, sure that he wouldn't be found there.
* * * * *
Melissa's journey was not an easy one. Nobody wanted to help a convict. She had to make her way to the military encampment herself, a mighty feat, as it was several miles outside of town. But she eventually made it, only to find they wouldn't tell her anything. She did, however, get a lead from some helpful stranger that saw a jeep leaving the place, and pointed her in the direction it had gone. She thanked him and started walking.

i WOULD just sit down and write, but i don't really know where i'm going, in all... and i need to sort that out, or it'll end up floundering. >.> _________________

Yes, I'm writing again. No, you don't have to read it, you never did. Yes, it still sucks. No, I'm not going to stop (entirely) until I finish it, which will probably be soon.
---------------------------------------------------
A New Threat?
As Melissa walked the narrow trail through the dense forest, she could hear the faint noises of battle in the distance and prayed that her son was alright. However, closer she heard the dull roar of approaching military transports, and quickly hid amongst the bushes. She watched them pass, carrying what she could only assume were reinforcements from Brown. When they passed, she quickly became aware that she was not alone in the bush. Frightened, the eagle turned this way and that, looking for the source of the rustling she heard. Finally, she found it in the form of a small coyote, muzzled and wrapped in a straight jacket. Melissa wanted to hide, but... somehow, she didn't think the boy was a threat. He didn't seem to notice her as he drudged through the forest, watching the ground, nor as he fell forward on his face, lying totally still. Hesitantly, and with great caution, she approached the creature. He still did not move. She picked him up carefully and sat him up against a tree. His eyes were closed, and his breathing shallow. Melissa quickly removed the muzzle and undid the jacket, but before she could remove it entirely, the coyote woke up, startled, and got up to run away, tripping again. "Wait!" she called, chasing after the frightened canid and picking him up again, kicking and screaming. "Calm down!", she told him, "I don't want to hurt you!" She then shrieked as he bit her wing, then was off like a dart again. A third time, the child stumbled, and was tangled into a bush. "No! I won't go back! I won't!! You can't make me!" The coyote struggled with his trap, kicking and thrashing, not letting the cloaked figure get any closer. However, he hadn't eaten in days, so his energy quickly depleted, and again he was asleep. After a moment, Melissa released the coyote from his prison, holding him tightly in her wings, discovering he was equally scared of her as he was of him, and desperately in need of help; his restraints were clear evidence of that.
