Hello. First real post, so excuse my unfamiliarity with the topics. If it hasn't been said yet, I would like to tell all of you to read a wonderful book series called "The Dark Tower". Its an amazing series covering seven books that has personally changed my entire way of thinking and living.

The books are part western, part fantasy, part epic. I can't rightfully sum up seven books in a single post, but the series is written so masterfully and with such depth that any reader who be engulfed by their magic. I am NOT a sci-fi fan, nor am I fond of westerns, but this book sereis is unforgettable and entirely worth every second it took to read them. I wouldn't take reading them for anything. The author is Stephen King, but they are unlike anything else he has ever written.

They are good books. There are some things that irked me, such as the egotism of including yourself as a pivotal character in one of your own books... But on thw whole, extremely good. Not like King's usual stuff so if you don't generally like him then they're still worth a go.

Hmm I plan on reading them once I finish this specific book series that I'm on, I've heard mixed reviews, but they seem interesting and I'm always willing to try something new=3

I quite like these books. They did seem to get a hell of a lot larger the further up the series you went. The gunslinger however is an amazing book. A very good read.

Loved them, worshipped them, joined the cult, and all I got was three paper cuts, days of enjoyment, and this free t-shirt.

Also I do not think that it was all that egotistical making yourself a pivotal character as long as it is done with some taste, which is exactly what King (Stephen King not me) did.

I've read book I twice, and fallen off again, because I couldn't find book II. I now have book II and can't remember book I.
go figure.

book one was written decades ago, and was little more than a character introduction the story doesn't pick up until books two and three and from there the story takes off.

I think I got half way through the first one, right to the point where Jake was introduced. I got weirded out in the chapter where he was lusting after the obese religious charlatan. It does get much better, right? Because right now it's pretty vague and I have no idea what's really going on besides the fact that he's chasing a dark wizard or something through another dimension.
